about me
My professional education includes attaining a BA Degree in Psychology from Randolph-Macon College. I graduated Cum Laude, attained Phi Beta Kappa membership, and received the Psychology Award for my graduating class. I then received a Master's Degree in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 1993, I attained Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker.
I have been providing Therapy Services through Private Practice since 1996. I work with Adolescents, Adults, Couples, and Families. I enjoy providing Webinars and Continuing Education Workshops for Mental Health Professionals, as well as Workshops for businesses and institutions. On-going volunteer work in our community has been maintained throughout my professional life. One example is that I have offered First Responders, such Fire Fighters and Emergency Medical Service Workers in Virginia Debriefings and Stress First Aid Services for over 30 years.
I have experience in Counseling for Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) at University of Virginia, Martha Jefferson Hospital, and other private EAP Organizations. I worked at UVA-Faculty and Employee Assistance Program as the Trauma Therapist and Developer of an extended 12 Session Service to employees and family members with Post Traumatic Stress from 2015-2022. I have also provided many trainings for Mental Health Professionals independently, with UVA, and with the Center for Ethical Practice.
I am now offering Program Packages to EAP’s and Businesses/Organizations seeking the development of Service Programs established for employees experiencing symptoms of PTSD.
